ASA: Sci-Fi Puzzle Game by Simon Mesnard

Posted on Sunday, November 11th, 2012 at 4:54 PM by

After completing repairs on an old satellite, an astronaut becomes mesmerized by a mysterious black cube that suddenly lurches in space, severing his security cable. Intent on catching the cube in spite of the dangers, his oxygen is almost gone when he finally snares it.  There’s no chance to return to his own craft, but the cube abruptly teleports him to an unknown spaceship, and now he’ll need to find a way to escape and make his way home.

With this intriguing story, Simon Mesnard immerses us in a first person spatial adventure with a careful artistic work. Taking in consideration that he is de only membership of the developing team, Simon has achieved a high quality level not only in the graphic aspects, but also in the sound aspects.

It is important to say that the sound has been created by Karreo a young soundtrack producer with a wide experience in creating soundtracks for short films.
With these credentials ASA presents a spatial adventure which will bring a lot of memories to the Myst saga lovers. Static pre-rendered images and jigsaw where the logic and research of new trails will be essential to go on through the story. That is the ASA promise.
I would like to point out that once more time (every time more frequently) there is only one person who has developed this project following the path of Jonathan Boakes looking back in 2001 when Dark Fall is seen for the first time. This brings ASA a special quality, because the achievement of finishing a project, even being a small project, nowadays it is nearly a miracle.

To conclude, ASA is a humble project in which its creator, Simon Mesnard, has dedicated much time and effort to obtain an independent game of quality. Although will have to wait till the end of the year to enjoy the complete version, there is available a pre-beta demo that you can download from the game blog: http://2011asa.blogspot.fr/ which gives us an idea what this graphic adventure will be.
